I think the most interesting part of this analysis is in the 8th paragraph: “From the video provider’s perspective, online video is not scalable, which means that the more people viewing video at a website, the more it costs that site to serve video and/or the slower the video gets served,” says David Hallerman, eMarketer senior analyst, who authored the report.

RIAA: Those CD rips of yours are still... →
Isn’t this a delicate balance? Certainly on a legal/technical point the RIAA is correct — ripping a CD is illegal. But since some of us used to make tapes of LPs to play in the car, we all have been doing this. There has always been an “understanding” that such copies, which can now be sideloaded onto digital devices, were legal and accepted by the industry. Yet if they...
A Chapter of ‘Jackass’ as Web Test - New York... →
And who says the Hollywood studios are not innovating on the web? This will be a very good litmus test for the current viability of IP based motion picture delivery. The demographic for this film is spot-on. If the Jackass audience (and personally I have no idea who they are) is not willing to watch this online, no one will watch anything online.

PR WEEK Story on Web Startups Needing PR
TECHNOLOGY: Comms essential to Web startups Dec. 3, 2007 By Aarti Shah http://www.prweekus.com/Comms-essential-to-Web-startups/article/99474/ A strong PR strategy is important for all organizations that are part of the Web 2.0 movement, especially as some tech insiders speak about a downturn. Though venture capital money is still pumping through Silicon Valley, the Web 2.0 boom is...

Thoughts… comments… I think it is pretty interesting that people are saying that Apple is dramatically over-valued even against high fliers like Google. Some interesting points are raised and while I have nothing bad to say about them, as soon as I could start using and alternative — Amazon Unbox — I did. If for no other reason just to root for the underdog.

O'Brien helps staff during strike - Entertainment... →
No matter where you come down on the WGA strike in Hollywood, what Conan O’Brien is doing is one of the classiest things I have seen a celebrity do in a long time. This strike is about “incremental” dollars when you look at what some of the actors, producers and executives make… it is good to see someone like Conan acknowledge the value of his entire production team. He...
